Overview
Justworks Payroll is a cloud-based payroll service for small businesses that makes paying employees, contractors, and vendors hassle-free. Since 2012, Justworks has been helping small businesses save time on payroll with an intuitive interface and easy-to-use features like time tracking and tax form generation.
Features and Functionality
Automatic Employee Pay
Set up cycled payments for both salaried and hourly employees in your business. Pay will be deducted from your connected bank account and disbursed to employee accounts as direct deposit automatically.
Payment for Contractors and Vendors
Regular or one-off payments to a vendor or contractor can also be scheduled with the same platform. This brings all payroll in one place.
Different Pay Rates
You can set different pay rates for employees based on regular hours or jobs. This can be set up through Job Codes.
Off-Cycle Payments
Schedule off-cycle payments like bonuses or missed payroll at no extra cost. Support is also included here at no extra cost. You can also set up any applicable deductions for these payments, such as tax or benefits.
PTO Management
Justworks also allows employers to manage paid family or vacation leaves for their employees. You can create policies for PTO and enable/disable them for employees.
Automated Tax Form Generation
You can generate W-2 and 1099 forms for all employees. Justworks can also handle other federal and state year-end tax forms.
Basic Time Cards for Hourly Workers
Employees can use time cards to get paid, typically every two weeks. They can enter hours for each day manually (if enabled).
Employee Onboarding and Offboarding
Justworks offers free onboarding checklists to employers to streamline the processing for new hires. Similarly, it also helps offboard employees that have been terminated or have quit.
Company Calendar
A built-in calendar on the platform lets you keep tabs on payments, holidays, and events. This calendar can also be integrated with Google Calendar.
Expert Support for Both Employer and Employees
Multiple support options (phone, email, and chat) are available for employers and employees using the system. Chatbots and representatives can answer general queries and solve technical issues promptly.
Reporting
Reporting with pre-built templates or custom (benefits usage, PTO balance, work history, headcount, and payment reports) is offered as part of the base plan. Reports can help business owners and managers understand payroll finances better.
QuickBooks Integration
Justworks seamlessly integrates with the widely used accounting software Quickbooks. It requires company-level mapping to synchronize payments between the two platforms.
